From a sawmill in the forest to one of Austria's finest.
In 1972, Alfons Sicher and his wife Erna transformed an old sawmill into a restaurant — a place that grew into a beloved culinary destination through the tireless dedication of an entire family.
A beautiful seating garden and one of the quietest and most culinary places in Carinthia, surrounded by nature.


Rustic warmth meets fine dining — the Stube of Restaurant Sicher, born from an old sawmill, carries the soul of its origin.
Where the Weisenbach murmurs and only birdsong breaks the silence — a place refined since 1972.
In 1994, Michael and his brother Wolfgang took over the family business from their parents. Today, their partners Martina and Andrea support the family enterprise with great commitment and devotion. The two grandchildren Sophia and Paul bring liveliness and joy to it all.



Caviar — the very name is a poem. Excellent caviar does not need artful creations, but noble simplicity.
Glassy, plump and silky — our char caviar from sustainable aquaculture. Just a touch of salt, otherwise completely natural and untreated. Harvested from late October to early December — gently milked at the precise moment of ripeness, the fish left entirely unharmed.
In an international gourmet test with 32 caviar varieties from across Europe, Sicher char caviar won hands down — "delicious, perfect, appetizing" was the verdict of the expert jury. Awarded the Coq d’Or by Le Guide des Gourmands in Paris in 2012 — "Europe’s best caviar", a reputation rightfully earned.
